Temples and Takoyaki | Japan Part One | #8

This episode of Camp Nowhere takes on two parts. Part 1 details how we came to book a one month trip to Japan less than a month out from leaving. All the twists, turns and pivots that lead us to Japan. Part 2 covers my first impressions of Japan. Without too many spoilers, Japan has spoken to my soul in a way that no other place has. I discuss the impact of a culture with a visible history, Japan’s dedication to craft and quality in everything they do, as well as the beauty of not being able to communicate.

As promised, here are some images that I feel convey history, craftsmanship and detail from our trip at the time of the recording:

Image 2: Roof line details at a temple in Kyoto

Image 3: Strands of paper cranes

Image 4: The dragon mural of Kennin-ji temple

Image 5: MAK, excited about the pictures she took
