Press On: A High Sierra Trail Story
The High Sierra Trail really gave us a run for our money. Thankfully we made it out, all be it exhausted physically and even more so mentally. What on the surface was a straight forward and honestly, simple hike, turned into a truly wild adventure. (more below)
Ever since we hiked the John Muir Trail in 2019, we’ve been itching to get back into the Sierras for another big hike. The wilderness and scenery there is so special and that hike ignited a love for backpacking that has never ceased. So when we got the opportunity to do the High Sierra Trail it was a no brainer. Of course we were in!
The High Sierra Trail is a roughly 72 mile trek through the backcountry of the Sierras starting in Sequoia National Park. The majority of the trail traverses places we had never been and we were oh so excited to see it.
What we encountered over the next seven days was absolutely incredible. No spoiler alerts here though, you’ll just have to watch and see. We’re super proud of what we made and we hope you enjoy!
