Snowshoeing with Old Growth Sequoias
Owen and I have both been feeling a visit was long overdue. However this time, we wanted to see the park for the first time in the winter under a blanket of snow. In order to hike in the snow, we needed to pick up a little extra gear. We hatched the idea to rent some snowshoes from REI, so we could hike in the snow out to see the Giant Sequoia trees of the Mariposa Grove.

Not ones to pass up such a fun sounding opportunity we immediately turned to our friends Chase and Aimee of Tight Loops and asked if they’d be interest in trading in their Vanagon for two weeks to travel in a FWC!

Final John Muir Trail Packing List
It’s no secret that it’s been a weird year for weather. In fact, just two weekends ago we were in Colorado and got snow! Just a few weeks ago we were checking the snowpack report for the Eastern Sierra’s and found that it was 180%+ higher than average.
April 2019 Recap
The month starts off with us leaving Joshua Tree NP, CA and headed out towards the coast. A friend of our who we had been with that weekend gave us a call to tell us that he came across one of the last sections of the super bloom out by his friends house in a residential area and that we should check it out.
John Muir Trail Packing Guide (Minus Food)
We’re just over a month away from starting the John Muir Trail! If you’re not familiar with the trail, it’s a 211 mile section of the Pacific Crest Trail that runs from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney, in California.
April 2017 Recap
At the end of March, we left off in Goat Rock, climbing at with our friends Matt and Allie. The next day was April 1 and we made our way to Bolinas, California for some surfing. Bolinas is a cool, little town right on the water.

We started the month of February making our way to the coast for an impending Baja trip. We stopped along the way in Oceanside, California to see our friends, Tierney and Cory. Oceanside was the first opportunity we had take our new surfboards out on their maiden voyage.
