Hey guys! Sorry you haven't heard from us in the last two weeks. "Week 18" of the build Amelia went into the shop to have a thorough checkup,
Build Out: Week 17
This week I want to start off by showing you a few pictures of the various phases of life the bed area in Amelia has gone through during this build. I think it's the best way to truly appreciate how she looks now.
Build Out: Week 16
We feel really close to being done with Amelia, even though we know that we've a few more weeks of work to do.
Build Out: Week 15
The last step before we could install our top cabinets was getting our button latches and hinges installed in the doors. I was under the impression that it might take a bit of work (like seemingly everything else)
Build Out: Week 14
At some point this week I realized, I have worked on Amelia everyday for the last month! With some of our progress lately it has opened up the ability to work on so many different projects around Amelia that I haven't even considered taking a day off because there has been so many things on my to-do list.
Build Out: Week 13
Welcome back my friends, hope you all have had a great week! We had a great week of exciting progress. We're really starting to see light at the end of this endless tunnel.
Build Out: Week 12
Hope you all have had a great week. We, as usual, kept ourselves very busy over this past week! We had some exciting things happen that I'm so excited to tell you about! We've gotten a lot of questions recently about our ETA to get back on the road.
Build Out: Week 11
Hope this blog post finds you well! Do you see anything new in the picture above?! No, I'm not talking about Owen's creepy foot hanging out of the back of Amelia. Amelia got her new STRIPES!!
Build Out: Week 10
Hey friends, longtime no talk! Might I say, you look great today?! The last time we talked in depth about our build was the end of December and we had just wrapped up Amelia's fresh paint job!
Painting Amelia: Video
MAK here! Sorry for the radio silence over the past few weeks. We were busy traveling to see family, enjoying the holidays, a fishing trip, and prepping for a wedding in upstate Michigan next week!
Build Out: Week 8 & 9
Sorry about not getting anything posted last week. We had to make a quick run up to North Carolina to tend to a family matter. On the way there we got a chance to experience the Snowpocalypse in our old hometown of Atlanta, Georgia!
Build Out: Week 7
This past week has been pretty different from everything to date. Up until now we've been rolling smoothly through the build. The order in which we've been tackling projects has been very clear, and there was a lot needing to be worked on all at once. Until this week.
Build Out: Week 6
I hope that this blog post finds you well, and that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We had plans to opt outside, but sadly the weather said otherwise.
Build Out: Week 5
It's hard to believe that we are 5 weeks in. This past week absolutely wore us out because we working on Amelia every single day
Build Out: Week 4
Hello again my friends, MAK here! It's crazy to think that it has already been a week since we did the last update. This has been the 4th week of work that we have done on Amelia, and it was largely spent fiberglassing in holes on the exterior.
Build Out: Week 1, 2 & 3
MAK here! We've been really busy these first few weeks doing sporadic burst of work on Amelia. Going forward we'll be posting our weekly updates on the build out. This time I'll be catching you up on about 3 weeks of work.
Amelia's Before Tour: Video
We thought it would be fun to give you guys a tour of our new home, a 1985 Toyota Sunrader 4x4, named Amelia. This tour is of her in her VERY original state and is likely how she came from the factory.
Oh Canada!
This summer we were headed to the west coast from Glacier National Park in Montana. Looking ahead at our path of travel we noticed that the weather was forecasted to be HOT and still.
Video Tour of Stanley
We have been toying with the idea of starting up a YouTube channel for a while now, so we thought it was high time that we make it happen. Our first video is live! It covers our build out of Stanley with a full walk through. Give it a watch, and follow the channel if you are into that sort of thing! Enjoy!
Our New Home On Wheels
Allow us to introduce our new home! She is a 1985 Toyota Sunrader 4x4. There were only 28 4x4s ever made and we somehow got lucky enough to have one. We found her on a Toyota forum for sale in Bozeman, Montana. Here are some of the stats:
