Juneau was our first official stop in Alaska! We’d heard wonderful things about the area and looked forward to a week of stopping in the state capitol.

It’s hard to believe this day has finally come. This is a project that’s been in the works for nearly a year now… Our first episode of our series Lost & Found documenting our travels and the lessons learned from them as we traveled through Alaska this summer.

Our friends over at Four Wheel Campers asked if we’d be interested taking a test trip in two of their demo rigs. Not ones to pass up such a fun sounding opportunity we immediately turned to our friends Chase and Aimee of Tight Loops and asked if they’d be interest in trading in their Vanagon for two weeks to travel in a FWC!

As we crept ever closer to the US and Canadian border we found ourselves in the coastal rainforest of Washington. Those of you who have been following us for at least the last year, you know that we have fully become desert dwellers. The moss-draped trees felt completely foreign to us, but we were so hungry to dive deep into this incredible new terrain.

We rarely drive from point A to point B. Instead, we like to take the scenic route when we are “commuting”. This spring as we started to make our way, slowly, towards the US and Canadian border we wanted to find a creative route to get us off the beaten path so that we can see something new, have some fun and still get to where we need to go.

We put together a little travel guide for Buena Vista and the surrounding area of the things that we’ve eaten, drank, hiked, and rafted all of which we’ve loved. So here’s what we recommend!
