2023 Tundra + Four Wheel Camper: Full Build Parts List & Tour
Believe it or not, we built our fifth rig for full time life on the road this past year! Outwardly this new build may look very similar to our last truck Roxanne, but it’s wildly different and a massive upgrade for us. Our last Tundra + Four Wheel Camper was in no way at the end of it’s life span, we just found ourselves in the unique position of needing to prepare for traveling full time outside of the US. Let’s dive into the details of what we built!
Below is the build tour for your enjoyment! What follows is the full parts list and technical details of the finished build. If you are wanting to know more of the “why” behind this build, don’t worry we’ll be addressing that shortly in a build series. Those videos will document the build and will detail the reasoning/theory behind every decision we made to build our new home on wheels!
The Parts List:
The following are the from dealer specs for the truck. Other than these original details, almost every aspect of the truck has been altered since we drove it fresh off the lot in Virginia Beach, VA.
2023 Toyota Tundra in Ice Cap White
Twin-turbo V6 engine 3.4L
TRD Off-Road package
Double cab
Electronic rear locker
Extended Range Fuel Tank
We’ve affectionately named the truck “Jolene” because if you aren’t careful, she ‘gonna steal your man! ;)
Between 2019, the year of our last Tundra, and 2023 the technological advances are staggering. The interior feels like a spaceship by comparison. With the addition of the in-dash screen and car play it makes navigating bigger, easier and more visible than ever!
Other than those original details, almost every aspect of this truck has been touched since we drove it fresh off the lot in Virginia Beach, VA.
In order to prepare for the camper we planned to install, the truck had to undergo major modifications. The truck build portion of this project was done by the master minds over at Mainline Overland in Philadelphia, PA. For reference, they’re who we trusted with our first Tundra + Four Wheel Camper build. After seeing how reliable of a vehicle they can build, it was no question we wanted them to build this 2.0 version.
